The event was successfully staged with 100 participants registered for the tournament. The aim of the golf tournament was to enhance closer working relationship among industry players and the government officials.

Ban on Heavy Vehicles on Roads during Hari Raya Aidilfitri 2010
This is to inform members that heavy vehicles will be banned from ALL roads for FOUR days during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festival in 2010. The Road Transport Department (RTD) has agreed to provide FMM MEMBERS with a special exemption.

Kedah Industry Tenpin Bowling Tournament 2010 - 23 May 2010, Park Avenue Superbowl, Sungai Petani, Kedah
The event a collaboration between FMM Kedah/Perlis and Kedah Investment Centre (KIC) was successfully staged with 42 teams (126 players) registered for the tournament. The aim of the bowling tournament was to enhance closer working relationship among industry players and the government officials.

Highlights of Outcomes of Briefing cum-Dialogue on Employment of Foreign Workers, Nov 19, 2009
The FMM Kedah/Branch in collaboration with the Immigration Department, Labour Department and FOMEMA Sdn Bhd conducted the above programme on 19 November 2009. The following are some highlights on the outcomes of the Dialogue session:

Updates for Small & Medium Industries (SMI/IKS) in Kedah & Perlis
1. At the FMM Kedah/Perlis Sub-Committee on SMI/IKS meeting on 16 November 2009, SME Corp Kedah/Perlis informed that Starting Nov 2009, SME Corp Kedah/Perlis will process and approved applications for Business Start-up Grant.

FMM Kedah/Perlis Branch Committeefor FY2009/2010
The 1st Branch Committee was held on the October 8, 2009 after the 1st Branch AGM. The following office bearers were elected into the new Branch Committee:

Sungai Limau Hidrocarbon Hub (SULIHH), Kedah Mega Project, expected to gain RM400 a year
The Kedah State Government aimed for additional RM400 million a year beginning 2014, from the royalty to be received from the State mega project, Sungai Limau Hidrocarbon Hub (SULIHH) in Yan Kedah.

USD5 billion (RM37billion) would be invested for the initial implementation of the project in Yan. The project that would take three years to complete include a 320 km crude oil pipeline from Yan, Kedah to Bachok, Kelantan.

YB Dato' Rasli Basir appointed as the new Kedah State Secretary
YB Dato' Seraja Setia Dato' Wira Haji Rasli Basir was appointed as the new State Secretary for Kedah replacing YB Dato' Bijaya Indera Dato' Paduka Haji Syed Unan Mashri Syed Abdullah Shahabudin. The appointment took effect on 5 May 2009.

Meanwhile, YB Dato' Haji Mohd Puat Haji Mohd Ali, former Chief Executive Officer of Kedah Investment Centre assumed the role of State Financial Officer, replacing YB Dato' Rasli.

FMM Kedah BON Session: Meet the Bankers’ Session - April 23, 2009
A BON Session: Meet the Bankers’ Session was conducted on April 23, 2009. 30 participants attended the event. FMM Kedah has invited SME Bank, MIDF, Standard Chartered Bank and Bank Islam to update participants on the latest financial assistances and packages offered to the industries. Latest financial assistances under 2nd Stimulus Package highlighted at the Session included:
a. SME Assistance Guarantee Scheme (SAGS)
b. Working Capital Guarantee Scheme (WCGS); and
c. Industry Re-structuring Financing Guarantee Scheme(IRFGS)

Highlights of FMM Kedah Courtesy Visit to Alor Setar Mayor on April 28, 2009
FMM Kedah Rep Office paid a Courtesy Visit to Alor Setar Mayor on April 28, 2009, led by Dr Haminuddin Abd Hamid. Concurrently, the IPMC Alor Setar/Mergong was conducted and co-chaired by Alor Setar Mayor YBhg Datuk Haji Khazali bin Haji Din and En Teoh Thean Yong of DXN Industry Sdn Bhd.

1st FMM Kedah/Perlis Pro-Tem Committee Meeting - 25 June 2009
The 1st FMM Kedah/Perlis Pro-Tem Committee Meeting was held on 25 June 2009. The Pro-Tem Committee elected Dr Haminuddin Abd Hamid of Ideal Healthcare Sdn Bhd as the Chairman; and En Tahiruddin Hamdan, SilTerra Malaysia Sdn Bhd and En Teoh Thean Yong, DXN Industries Sdn Bhd as Deputy Chairmen.

Indonesia Consulate General, Penang Courtesy Visit to FMM Kedah Representative Office -1 July 2009
Among issues discussed included:

a. Possible business matching between FMM members and Indonesia counterparts could be conducted in near future via the Chamber of Commerce Sumatera. Sumatera region is rich with raw materials like coal and palm oil, agricultural products and handicraft. The Consulate through the Joint Business Council under IMGT could facilitate the business matching.

b. The Consulate would revert to FMM for future business networking session between Indonesian industries and FMM members
